About Steve Welker and Company

Over the last 30 years, the Welker family has helped thousands of Canadians just like you get out of debt. Through these years, we have understood that people get into debt for many different reasons beyond their control – Job loss, business failure, divorce, helping others, an illness, disability, accident and other unexpected expenses. We understand the stress that this puts people in and that this stress affects their relationships, sleep, health and enjoyment of life.

Canadian Laws allow you to get relief and suffer no longer. Our passion is making the Canadian system work for you. We can only sleep well when you’re sleeping well with your debt no longer on your mind.

Who we are

Meet Steve

He’s a fisherman, home renovator and knows his way around a kitchen. That’s a picture of Steve fishing with his father Peter who is also a Licensed Insolvency Trustee. His brother is a Trustee as well. His family has successfully helped thousands of Ontarians with their debt problems since the 90s. Steve understands that life throws curveballs and is a firm believer in the Canadian insolvency system. He knows the relief that an initial consultation can provide, and he enjoys empowering his clients to overcome their financial difficulties.

Sure, he’s a chartered accountant, Licensed Insolvency Trustee, and received the gold medal for the highest mark on the National Insolvency Exam. Still, he doesn’t like to remind anyone of those facts… except his brother.

Community is important to Steve. That’s why PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP recognized him as their South Western Ontario Volunteer of the year for his work on a local board of directors. He’s also been a big brother for over a decade and prepared tax returns for free through the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Ontario.

After cutting his teeth in commercial insolvency and working on large receiverships and re-organizations Steve founded Steve Welker and Company Inc. in 2014 to pursue his passion of serving individuals struggling with debt.

Eddie here & I hope all three of you are doing very well. I just submitted a request to have Abby process my final lump-sum payment with all dues cleared by Monday, March 8, 2021 thus clearing/settling my commitment in my Proposal a couple of years earlier than planned. I wanted to extend my thanks & gratitude to all three of you over the last near three years.

Todd, thank you for our initial meeting back in June of 2018. I appreciate your patience, kindness, understanding & sincerity during a very difficult period in my life. You’ve been a great help throughout these past few years.

Abby, thank you for your timely responses to all of my e-mails. I knew whenever I e-mailed you, I’d receive a response the same day with the correct information to any of my questions. You’ve been a pleasure to work with throughout this process.

Finally, Steve, it was rare that I had any concerns when dealing with your Team, but when I did, you were quick to address them & keep me well informed.

The road to financial recovery continues but the start & journey was made easier thanks to all of you. Thank you all very much once again & I wish you all the continued best–keep well & take care.

Kind Regards,
~Eddie~

Firstly – though not in the best of circumstances, it was great to finally meet you today. Hopefully we can find a time to chat in a better scenario sometime soon as well.

Mostly – I really want to thank you for your help today. I know that my brother’s case in your world is very small, especially relative to the amount of time you invested in our meeting. However, moving towards the resolution of this situation is a big deal for my family (particularly my parents). Your professionalism and helpfulness was tremendous – my brother was raving about you after we left. That is truly appreciated.

If there is anything I can do to help with referrals or testimonials or anything, please let me know and I would be very happy to do it.

Thanks again.

Best,

Nick

As you may have heard already worked my butt off this past year with a 2nd job and was able to pay off my debt! It’s a nice feeling and I want to thank you for your help and support. It was a hard thing to do and you made it a lot easier.

With all that said, I have a couple questions for you:

– will my credit score change now that I have this complete?

– on my credit report it’s showing that both of my government student loans are still open, why is that and when will they close?

Thanks in advance!

Cheers,

Matt

Andrew

I have been meaning to follow up and thank you for all your help over the last 3 years. I have got confirmation that all my credit bureau files are now updated and I am looking forward to a fresh start now, so thanks again. The reason I am remembered to write today is because I heard your new radio spot on Boom 97.3 (which we listen to at work) and it sounds great!

Thanks again for the help and best of luck to you and your firm this year and in the future.

Sincerely,

Andrew
